Both Toddler and Primary Montessori school classrooms prepare many of their own daily snacks. One day a week, each classroom prepares a more extensive snack. Allowing children to explore in the kitchen inspires creativity and can also expose them to new foods they may have never tried. Exposure to the kitchen also teaches the children about tools we use in the kitchen, they learn about the clean up process and how to act with grace and courtesy. At our school we truly believe learning to prepare food is stimulating and allows children to explore different interests as well as work in a creative community setting.
