What is Montessori?

Montessori education is an education that has a deep respect for children as individuals. It is a method that focuses on helping each child reach his or her academic, social, emotional, and spiritual potential.

Classrooms are not run by a teacher alone, but rather they are guided by their teacher. The teacher introduces the children in managing their own classroom community, which develops leadership and independence.

The Montessori approach to eduation was consciously designed to recognize and address individual learning styles.  This gives children a chance to absorb the material and learn at their own individual pace.

Mastery comes with individual accomplishments and helps build self-confidence and a love for learning.
